Introduction to the role of a respiratory therapist in the hospital setting as a member of a health care team. Includes professional behavior, ethics, legalities, communications, medical terminology, medical charts and cardiopulmonary assessment. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Chemistry 100 and Chemistry121, and Math 118, and English 101, and Biology 116 and Biology 120. 100 minutes per week. 2 credit hours.
