Teoretical and protocol based applications of, indications for, and assessment of efcacy and patient response to basic respiratory care modalities in the cardiopulmonary compromised patient population. Includes such therapeutic modalities as: O2/gas therapy, aerosol and humidity therapy, bronchial hygiene, and hyperinfation therapy. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Chemistry 100, and Chemistry 121, and Mathematics 118, and English 101, and Biology 116 and Biology 120. 3 lecture and 2 lab hours per week. 4 credit hours.
