Introduction of diagnostic procedures; evaluation and interpretations of physiological or psychological status of the nephrology patient, emphasis on diagnostic tests and their interpretations; evaluation of skills and sterile techniques, setting up plate and hollow fber dialyzers; infection control. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Admission into the Renal Technology program/plan 247 or 248. 1 lecture and 6 lab hours per week. 3 credit hours.
