Tis course includes the study of acronyms and professional jargon used in the medical and health care environment. Emphasis includes examination of data used in the delivery of health care and the characteristics of the health care workforce. Chronic illness and rehabilitative care will be examined as well as primary and specialty care in light of managed care. Te process of accrediting and licensure of health science programs will be explored. A case study format involving inter-disciplinary health science programs will be reviewed, emphasizing systematic clinical applications. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. 150 minutes per week. 3 credit hours.
