An introductory course designed to familiarize students with the historic roots and philosophical foundations of child care and education. Knowledge of diferent types of early childhood programs, their basic values, structure and organization. Examination of the student's personal qualities in relationship to expectations of the feld. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. 150 minutes per week. 3 credit hours.
