Building on prior programming experience, design and implementation of large-scale programs. Abstract data types. Data structures: sets, pointers, lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs. Program verifcation complexity. Recursions. Dynamic concepts: memory, scope, block structures. Text processing. Introduction to searching and sorting algorithms. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: CIS 142, or Consent of Department Chairperson. 150 minutes per week. 3 credit hours.
