Continuation of the study of organic chemistry: alcohols, and ketones, carbox-ylic acids, functional derivatives of carboxylic acids, heterocyclic compounds, spectroscopy; laboratory emphasis organic synthesis and spectroscopic analysis. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in Chemistry 205, or Consent of Department Chairperson. 4 lecture and 4 lab hours per week. 6 credit hours.
