Tis course covers an introduction to clinical microbiology, the Gram Stain, a comprehensive study of staphylococcal organisms; the family enterobacteriaceae; biochemical tests of the identifcation of gream positive cocci and gram negative bacilli. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Admission to the Clinical Laboratory Technology program/ plan 236, and Clinical Laboratory Technology course 104, or Consent of Department Chairperson. 2lecture and 2 lab hours per week. 3 credit hours.
