For students requiring one semester of economic theory; allocations of scarce resources among alternative uses in both the market place and within the individual consuming units; basic money and banking mechanisms, income determination in the larger economy and business fuctuations. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course. Prerequisite: Placement Test, or English 100 with a grade of C or better, or Consent of Department Chairperson. 150 minutes per week. 3 credit hours.
