3 credit hours Principles of hair design applied to complementary hair styling for clients. Introduction to hairstyling techniques that include basic finger waving, braiding and hair roller placement. An introduction to hair cutting equipment. Prepares student for state certification for the Illinois Cosmetology License from the Department of Professional and Financial Regulations. Prerequisite: Admission into Cosmetology Program and Concurrent Enrollment: Cosmetology 1101, 1103 and 1107 (1 lecture hour, 4 lab hours)
