3 credit hours Survey course in network management that provides the critical foundation of the theory and design of Local Area Networks (LAN). Includes network topologies, standards and protocols, LANs as nodes in larger networks in micro-to-mainframe links, the internet, wireless transmission, client-server, and an overview of security and Network Management and system administration. Prerequisite: Computer Information Systems 1150 or 1160 or consent of instructor (3 lecture hours)
