Prerequisites: CJ100 (Criminal Justice Forum), CJ110 (Introduction to Criminal Justice), CJ213 (The Judicial Function) and students must have earned a minimum of forty (40) credits, earned a minimum of a 2.0 GPA in all criminal justice courses, arranged the internship through the Criminal Justice Program and received advanced authorization of the intership by the participating agency. This class is a supervised field experience through the college where internships are arranged through placements in law enforcement, courts, corrections, loss prevention or other criminal justice settings. Only one internship course in Criminal Justice may be applied toward an associate's degree. [Note: Students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice Degree Program may earn up to 12 credits for successfully completing a recognized training academy program. The earned internship credits must formally complete the final requirements of the associate degree.] All students enrolling in the Criminal Justice Program will be first placeed in the Associate in Applied Science: Criminal Justice Degree Program. Once students successfully complete ten (10) credit hours in Criminal Justice, with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA in the Criminal Justice courses, the student may enroll in the academically-based Associate in Arts: Criminal Justice Degree Program. All criminal justice majors must have successfully completed each criminal justice course with a "C" (2.0) or better and students must have a minimum of 2.0 or better cumulative GPA in all criminal justice courses to earn an associate's degree or certificate.
