This course is the study of the Great Plains in a history of how civilization progressed west of the 98th meridian, where the frontier pushed out of the woods onto the plains, and new survival techniques were needed for the frontiersmen. The class includes a survey of the environmnet, Native Americans, cattle, transportation, water, barbed wire and tour of historical points of interest.
