Prerequisite: CNET 2211 This course exposes students to the various defense methodologies associated with Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Host Intrusion Detection Systems (HIDS), and Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS). The class demonstrates the use of remote connectivity technologies that combine existing internal networks with the Internet to securely communicate information. Students are introduced to the best practices associated with properly designing, implementing, and securing business critical network systems using VPNs.
