Investigation and overview of the problems and responsibilities faced in small businesses. Students identify and construct examples of marketing strategies and financial reports suitable to typical small businesses. Course includes identification of information sources and management assistance available to proprietorships and small to medium sized firms. Course also covers forms of business ownership, business security practices and steps to aid in successful business management. Case study method is used to reinforce and apply lecture and reading material and the development of a business plan.
