Topics include: Mechanics - linear motion, rotational motion, force, work, energy, momentum and conservation principles; Heat - temperature, ideal gas, eating as a form of energy, first law of thermodynamics, second law of thermodynamics and entropy; Wave Motion - simple harmonic motion, elasticity and the wave equation. This class is designed for those students needing five hours of physics without calculus. This class is taught in the fall. Prerequisites: College Algebra, high school trigonometry or college trigonometry and basic computer skills.
