This course provides comprehensive coverage of a medical office career and the integration of medical office tasks and issues. Course provides practice in applying such office skills as medical coding, medical vocabulary, human relations, decision making, setting priorities, following directions, working under pressure, and working with interruptions. Students develop an understanding of the role of medical office personnel as it relates to office health, safety, and ethical issues; business communications; scheduling appointments, and ordering and dispensing medical supplies. Prerequisites: BIOL 2373, OFST 1153, OFST 2553, or instructor?s permission (3 credit hours, 48 lecture hours, 0 lab hours)
