This course will acquaint students with features of Novell IPX address and encapsulation types, IPX access lists and SAP filters, and configuration of IPX interfaces; LAN segmentation using bridges, routers, and switches; Ethernet operations and congestion problems; benefits of network segmentation with bridges, routers, and switches; guidelines for Fast Ethernet; operation of the Spanning Tree Protocol; and benefits of virtual LANs. This course is not available for credit except through an active Western Oklahoma State College Cooperative Agreement. Prerequisite: BCIS 2473 (3 credit hours, 48 lecture hours, 0 lab hours)
