PHYS 0151 - Electrical Physics

Institution:
Western Nebraska Community College
Subject:
Description:
Prerequisite: COMPASS Co-requisite(s): MATH-0151 Electrical physics applies scientifi c methods to physical problems and to real world situations. Th is modular unit prepares trainees to improve problem solving skills through problem analysis, translation of practical problems into mathematical terms and solutions of problems mathematically. Topics covered will be applicable to on the job situations and may include: kinetic theory of matter, Pascal's hydraulic principle, Newton's law of motion and calculation of units of resistance with basic units of voltage (e), current (i) and resistance (r); create and understand pie diagrams; perform circuit calculations; basic geometry - solving problems for the resultant vectors and calculate angles; solving problems graphically; and the use of vectors to calculate such values.
