Prerequisite: ACFS-0060R or COMPASS Th is course uses a sociological and socialpsychological framework to examine minority and majority groups in American society (both past and present). Th e primary groups examined include those based upon race/ethnicity, socioeconomic class, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability/ disability, age and family status. Key skills developed in the course include awareness-building/shift ing frames of reference, critical/analytical thinking and writing and the ability to discuss diff ering points of view with others in an intelligent, respectful and productive way.
