Prerequisite: ACFS-0060R or Reading Placement Exam Th is course is designed to introduce students to the major issues in philosophy, including their cultural and historical origins as well as their application and relevance to current events and social issues. Among the issues usually explored are the history of philosophy, the life of reason, metaphysics (what is real?), epistemology (how do we know anything?), ethics and morality (what ought we to do?), the philosophy of religion, social and political philosophy and eastern philosophy.
