Prerequisite: ENGL-1490 or ENGL-1500 Th is is a survey course designed to familiarize the student with the range of material available in the areas of children's literature. It covers material from the traditional to the contemporary, for a variety of ages in a variety of types, including picture books, folk tales, modern fantasy, poetry, realistic and historical fi ction, biographies and informational literature. Th e course familiarizes the student with children's literature so that he/she learns to select and evaluate appropriate materials for individual and group needs and interest.
