Prerequisite: HIMS-1250 HIMS-1350 Th is course introduces the student to the study of legal and ethical principles related to patient care and health information; legal terminology and procedures; court systems; and liability of health care providers. Legal requirements governing policies designed to safeguard and maintain health information, including how to appropriately respond to requests for patient specifi c information will be explored.
