A lecture and laboratory course which provides the student with a fundamental knowledge of the dental materials commonly used in dental practice. LecturePresents physical, chemical, and manipulative characteristics of impression materials, cements, bases, cavity liners, cavity varnishes, waxes, composites, gypsum products, metals and resins LaboratoryPrepares students to correctly manipulate these materials. Students also acquire the skill to obtain preliminary impressions and occlusal registrationspour, trim and polish study castsfabricate custom impression trays from preliminary impressionsclean and polish removable appliances and prosthesesand fabricate provisional restorations.
