It emphasizes the four fundamental skills: listening/comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. Cultural awareness is promoted. Grammar focuses on the conjugation of the preterite tense of irregular verbs, the imperfect and differentiating between the two, por and para, and the subjunctive in noun clauses.
