This course is a continuation of Fundamentals I, which builds on the central competencies of the nursing program. The student is introduced to essential life functions including: protective, comfort/rest, activity/mobility; nutrition, elimination, fl uid/ gas transport. The focus is on nursing, the nursing process with emphasis on assessment, the client with normal or variations of normal functions, health promotion, environment, and communication. Basic management principles are introduced to assist the student to organize client care. (Prerequisite: admission to nursing major or permission of department. Corequisite: NURS 1041
