With a continued emphasis on assessment, the focus of this course is on planning, implementing and evaluating strategies to promote, maintain and restore optimum health for diverse clients across the lifespan experiencing alterations in life function(s). The course evolves around nursing, nursing process, and clients experiencing alterations in specifi ed life functions: protective, fl uid/gas transport, elimination, nutrition/ metabolism and growth and development. Management principles and therapeutic communication are incorporated into the plan of care for clients experiencing alterations in life functions. (Prerequisites: NURS 1030, 1040, 1041. Corequisite: NURS 1051)
