ITMF 2200/2201 - Machine Tool Technology

Description:
The use of metal working machine tools and accessories including the mill, lathe, saw, drill press, and surface grinder with emphasis on safety. Precision measuring tools and hand tools will also be used. Surface plate layout for the purpose of machining will be taught. Machining characteristics of commonly machined metals will be studied. Cutting speed and feed rate calculations will be covered in depth. Cutting tool types, geometry, lubricants and applications will be covered. (Prerequisite: ITMF 1010 and ITMF 1210/1211, or permission of instructor.) As required. 2 hours lecture / 2 hours laboratory
