This course is a comprehensive study of reimbursement procedures for the prospective payment system (DRGs) and outpatient services (APCs). Coding issues are emphasized and optimization skills developed and applied. This course includes a clinical practicum in a medical facility. This course is a combination of classroom and online instruction. This course includes extensive use of computers and coding software. (Prerequisite: MDCD 1010, MDCD 1020; Corequisite: MDCD 1030) S 2 hours lecture / 3 hours clinical per week
