This course is designed to teach students who already have a basic knowledge of the English alphabet how to write grammatically correct sentences, read and understand simple paragraphs, and respond to readings in writing. By the end of this course students should be able to find the key elements in short stories, respond to those stories in writing, write grammatically correct sentences, and begin to write short paragraphs. PREREQUISITE: Placement into course from scores on English placement test.
