Prerequisite: Score of 19 or higher on the English Portion of the ACT, or a score of 77 or higher on the Writing Skills portion of the COMPASS Test, or a grade of "C" or higher in ENG 0303 Foundational Composition and a score of 19 or higher on the Reading portionof the ACT, or a score of 83 or higher on the Reading Skills portion of the COMPASS, or a grade of "C" or higher in READ 023 CollegeReading Skills II Offered in the fall and spring semesters This course is a study of environmental and hereditary effects on the cognitive, affective, psychomotor and sociolinguistic development of typically and atypically developing children from conception to middle childhood of diverse cultural backgrounds within and outside the United States The students will be introduced to ways to observe and evaluate child development and recognize possible delays in development Practical application of theory is provided through a variety of hands-on experiences and observations This course requires ten (10) hours of field experience ( GE)
