A general algebraic course designed for those students not sufficiently proficient in algebraic skills to take MATH 1053. Topics covered are general algebraic skills, linear equations and inequalities, linear functions, factoring, radicals, and rational expressions. Does not count toward a major or minor in mathematics. Students must make a minimum grade of "C" in order to enroll in an advancedcourse. Prerequisite: Math ACT score of 17-18; ASSET score of 36-41 on Elem. Alg. Test; Compass score of 26-35 on Elem. Alg. or 41-55 on pre alg; passing MATH 0023 with a C or better. (3,0,3)
