Provides an introduction to the health care record and medical documents. This course also provides skills in transcription of basic medical dictation, incorporating English usage and machine transcription skills, medical knowledge, and proofreading and editing skills, and meeting progressively demanding accuracy and productivity standards. Fall only. Prerequisite: OFA 1053 (Medical Terminology), OFA 1063 (Word Processing), and ENG 1103 (English Composition I).
