The course focus is intensive work on the basic strategy, organization, diction, and grammar of the collegiate paragraph. This course must be taken before Basic Writing PRE 0503 when test scores require. It is also open to students whose test scores exceed the placement requirements but who desire a basic English refresher course and who can benefit from the course. The course is designed to strengthen students' writing skills from the sentence level through the paragraph level. The content of the course focuses on grammar, punctuation, and usage skills essential for effective writing. The course is not designed to teach collegiate essay development.
