This course is designed to make the early childhood educator aware of how language is acquired and how to provide children birth through age 5 with language rich environments by incorporating the four areas of language: speaking, listening, writing and reading into the curriculum. The skills taught in this course will be used to help children develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills. Prerequisites: ECE 1003, 1103 and 1203 or CDA.
