Prerequisite: Open to students with declared nursing major. Nurse-client encounters involve the interaction of three cultural subsystems: the culture of the nurse, the culture of the client and the culture of the setting. This course explores the influence of culturally diverse backgrounds within the health care system of the United States. The weaving of gender, age, race, ethnic and religious diversities of the nurse and client will be emphasized. This course fulfills the diversity requirement at TMCC.
