Prerequisite: None This course will develop the students awareness of the different types of technical rescue in the fire service. This course will introduce the student to the concepts, theories and definitions applicable to low angle, high angle, confined space, trench collapse, building collapse, swift water and ice rescue. Upon completion the student will be aware of how to recognize the dangers associated with rescue and the applicable regulations as applied to First Responders according to OSHA, NIOSH and NFPA. In addition the student will develop the basic skills required to safely and efficiently extricate victims from vehicle accidents.
