Prerequisite: None This course will define the role of teaching techniques within the framework of active treatment for both persons with developmental disabilities and mental illness. The concept of active treatment is defined, along with the client's participation in the therapeutic process. Teaching techniques are presented within the context of issues such as client need, dignity, access to choices, and overall effectiveness of teaching techniques.
