Prerequisite: FT 106B or Firefighter I Certification. This academy builds on the Firefighter I Academy and reinforces those basic skills. In addition this academy covers; fire department communications, foams, fireground operations (tactics and strategies), advanced rescue operations, firefighter survival, fire prevention, public education, advanced building construction, pre-planning, equipment operation, equipment maintenance, equipment and hose testing, basic hydraulics, intermediate wildland fire behavior (S-290), basic air operations (S-270), hydrant testing, and basic vehicle extrication.
