Prerequisite: EMT Basic or EMT Intermediate and acceptance into the Paramedic Program. Information will be provided that defines the roles and responsibilities of the paramedic and the importance of scene safety and wellness when practicing in the field. The course also provides information on injury prevention and the use of protective equipment needed to protect the paramedic in the field. It will provide the student with an understanding of the medical-legal and ethical issues which will impact them in their career. At the completion of this course, the EMT-Basic skills will be assessed and reviewed.
