Credit Hours: 3 Description: Introduces geology and its relationship to man's environment. Covers geologic hazards such as floods, landslides, avalanches, earthquakes and volcanoes. Focuses on surface and groundwater resources in terms of exploitation and man's responsibility to protect these resources from contamination. The geologic aspects of land use practices, as well as mineral and energy resource exploitation are reviewed and related to legislation regarding environmental law.
