Prerequisite: ENGL 111 with grade of "C" orbetter. A study of classical and contemporary literature covering the images of women through a wide range of communication networks including literature theatre, television, advertising, and the news media from Antigone to Leave It to Beaver to World War II posters to Monroe to cartoon caricatures. The course emphasizes the changing roles of women in society as they cross barriers of gender, race and class. Lecture 3 hours per week. As Needed
