An applications-based study of programmable logic controllers, hardware, operator interfaces, communications networks and device interfacing as found in manufacturing. Lecture 2 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week. SP ELEC 218 Electrical Codes and Standards for Manufacturing (2 cr.) Prerequisite: ELEC 115 or permission of instructor. Applications of electrical code rules and related standards pertaining to manufacturing installations. Safe work practices, materials selections and design problems are presented. Lecture 2 hours.
