A study of basic care provided by the first trained rescuer on the scene, including assessment of the victim, management of airway and breathing, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, management of common illnesses and injuries, assisting with childbirth, and assisting with Emergency Medical Services equipment. This course is based on the current Department of Transportation National Standard Curriculum for First Responder courses. Lecture 3 hours per week. Laboratory hours integrated. SP
