(4 cr.)---Examines environmental aspects of mining and petroleum exploration, management of forest resources, surface and groundwater resource management and alternative energy systems. Familiarizes students with the regulatory environment in mining and exploration and examine case histories of reclamation and remediation projects in both hard rock and fossil fuels. Includes applications such as high yield forestry and renewable energy and examines in light of global sustainability issues and changing economics of oil.
