Managing information technology and staff in today's fast paced and constantly evolving environment can be overwhelming and frustrating. This course covers basic technology concepts, selection of vendors, evaluation of hardware/software solutions, identification and establishment of technology standards, and basic project management. Emphasis will be placed on the development of policies and procedures to effectively and efficiently manage information technology. The student will learn to leverage technology to benefit the organization. Each student will complete a detailed technology plan for an organization and/or department. Lecture 3 hours per week.
