This course is designed to develop basic language skills of Spanish: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to use a basic vocabulary in simple conversation. He/She will also be able to recognize and use many regular verbs and some irregular verbs. The student will also be familiar with some of the cultural differences which exist between Spanish speaking countries and the United States of America. Drills on grammar through written and oral exercises are used in class work. The student's classroom use of the language and objective tests will be used in grade determination. Three hours of lecture per week. Credit, three semester hours
