Teaching procedures for each student differ greatly because of the varying levels of beginning skills of each individual. All students learn major and minor scales and chords and are exposed to major composers' works. Hanon and Czerny drills and exercises are included to increase finger dexterity, and a minimum of five hours of practice each week is expected. Testing and evaluation methods include two recitals per semester with memorized pieces. Credit, one semester hour
