Co-requisite: BIO 1130. This course is designed for life science, pre-professional majors, emphasizing the chemical and cellular basis for life. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to identify basic prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell structure and be knowledgeable in cell function, cell respiration, photosynthesis, information coding and transfer in cells and genetics. The student will also demonstrate basic laboratory techniques, analyze problems of biological importance and exhibit proficiency in study and application of DNA concepts and manipulation.
