Co-requisite: CHE 2431. Prerequisite: CHE 2423. The student will continue the course of study of the first semester with emphasis on aromaticity and the substituted carbon compounds. Specific syntheses and mechanisms such as Grignard and Friedel Crafts will be stressed. Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to apply the concepts learned to related topics in future courses. Evaluation will be determined by unit tests and a comprehensive final exam. Three one-hour lectures per week. Credit, three semester hours
